Hickory Dickory Dots was founded during the summer of 2016.  But the story goes back long before that. I first started on Etsy as a customer, purchasing creative and uniquely beautiful pieces of jewelry for my own collection and day wear. But over time, as I began reading the artists' stories in different shops, about what their creations meant to them, what moved them, how much they loved what they did, I began to get inspired. I knew then that I wanted to be a part of this community of creators, but I didn't know where I fit. So, I started by curating and selling the works of others, boho/hippie and antique jewelry I found at church and yard sales that I could only dream of making myself, to get my feet wet as a seller. I read advice in the forums, practically memorized the Seller Handbook and joined some teams. Then one day I saw that some artists were selling photo and digital prints, that there was more than just jewelry on Etsy, and that was when I began posting my own personal collection of landscape and nature photography, a lifelong passion and hobby. My first sale came shortly after, and I was hooked. Later that year, I stumbled on a Youtube video about painting mandala designs on canvas and on stones, by Elspeth Mclean, and I knew instantly that I could not only do that, paint in dots, but that I would absolutely love doing it. And I was right. I am addicted now for sure, sometimes it's all I think about. ;) Daily, I can be found designing and painting decorative mandalas and dot art stones, or thinking about designing and painting decorative mandalas and dot art stones. It is the happiest I think I have ever been in a career; I wake up each morning and I cannot wait to get started on the new pieces I have planned, can't wait to watch colors come together, layer upon layer, as designs emerge on what was once a rough beach stone. Thanks for stopping by; take a look around the site, or even visit the shop on Etsy if you have time, and have a great day until we meet again!
